Individual counseling

A place to understand what keeps repeating, and what you want to do differently.

Individual work gives us room to slow down patterns that are difficult to see while you are inside them.

Reasons people come in

You do not need a diagnosis or a perfectly defined goal to begin.

Some people arrive with a clear question. Others arrive knowing only that something has been off for a while. Both are workable starting points. People often get in touch about:

  • a transition that is harder than expected
  • feeling stuck in something familiar
  • anxiety that is hard to turn off
  • depression or a low mood that lingers
  • a relationship pattern that keeps repeating
  • conflict you keep ending up in
  • self-criticism that has become constant
  • overwhelm that does not let up
  • the lingering effects of trauma
  • grief and change
  • boundaries you struggle to hold
  • questions about where you belong
  • ADHD-related challenges
  • wanting more clarity about a recurring pattern

In session

What we may pay attention to.

  1. Patterns

The response that arrives before you have decided anything: the way you shut down, over-explain, take charge, or disappear. We look at where it came from and what it is still trying to do.

  2. Relationships

How you are with a partner, a parent, a colleague, a friend. What you expect from people, what you find hard to ask for, and where the same disappointment keeps repeating.

  3. Inner criticism

The voice that reviews everything you do. Rather than arguing with it, we get curious about what it is protecting and what it costs to keep listening to it.

  4. Practical change

What you actually do differently on a Tuesday. Noticing sooner, saying something earlier, building structure that fits how you work, or trying one concrete thing between sessions.
